DEADLINE FOR RECEIVING MATERIALS : JANUARY THE 25th 2012

This double annual event jointly organized by two European festivals (Toulouse and San Sebastian) aims to contribute to the completion, distribution and promotion of Latin American films who encounter difficulties at the stage of post-production.

A selection of six films being finalized will be presented to an audience exclusively composed of film professionals who can contribute decisively to ensure that these works reach the public.

INÉMA UNDER CONSTRUCTION 21 :

CINÉMA UNDER CONSTRUCTION TOULOUSE AWARD :

It consists in post-production services offered by partnered companies, a grant aimed at post-production works, and the promotion of the awarded film.

This "Toulouse Films in Progress Award" will be delivered by a jury composed of representatives of companies and entities involved in the award..

  • LE CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA CINÉMATOGRAPHIE ET DE L’IMAGE ANIMÉE (CNC) will attribute a grant towards the completion of the project, which will cover post-production work in France.
     
  • MACTARI will offer services of audio editing and sound mixing up to 15.000 €.
     
  • TITRA FILM, recognized for its subtitling company (since 1934) has diversified its offer. In addition to captioning, the association of TVS TITRA powers proposed post-production services digital (DCP manufacturing, assembling extracts) and manufacture of DVD and Blu Ray sound dubbing studio.

    TITRA FILM will offer the subtitling of the first copy, which includes the translation/adaptation to subtitles to French or English and the laser cutting of the copy.

  • EUROPA DISTRIBUTION will promote the film to its 110 members network, and especially the 35 European distributors that take part to Europa Distribution International (EDI) project. In the framework of EDI, there will be private screenings on Cinando of the awarded movie organised  (with the authorization of the owner of the rights). A bonus will be attributed to the distributors of EDI that commit to release the movie in their country.
     
  • LA CONFÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DES CINÉMAS D’ART ET D’ESSAI (CICAE)  will systematically inform their 2.000 members about the film. This will make the distribution companies aware of this film and promote its circulation.
     
  • LA CAISSE CENTRALE D'ACTIVITES SOCIALES DU PERSONNEL DES INDUSTRIES ELECTRIQUES ET GAZIERES (CCAS) will offer a four weeks residency to the winner towards the completion of the post-production or the promotion of the film in France.

        

CINE + AWARD

CINÉ + TV network guarantees to purchase the winning film for the amount of 15.000 € and to broadcast it on its network. This sum will be given to the distributor on condition that this film will be commercially exhibited in French theatres within the first two years following the Cinema Under Construction screening.

Furthermore  :

EP2C Postproduction training program will advise for international coordination of post-production the responsible for the post production of the film. In addition, EP2C will offer a scholarship as a support dor the travel of one of the producers of one of the films selected wishing to participate in post-production Workshop and whose bid is successful.

 Le Marché du Film (Festival de Cannes) offers market accreditations to producers of films selected in Toulouse Cinema Under Construction



The Cinéma under Construction films will have access to international screening throughout the worldwide network of the Instituto Cervantes.

La Région Midi-Pyrénées supports Cinema Under Construction and Cinéma en Développement by contributing towards the presence of film directors and producers (whose films have been selected) as well as cinema professionals (co-production and post-production) who participate in those help facilities.

COMPULSORY CONDITIONS TO VALIDATE THE REGISTRATION

1. Registrate the film on line on this direction : http://www.arcalt.fr/cc/formulaire.php

2. If the film is not spoken in Spanish language, please send a DVD with spanish, french or english subtitles, or the list of dialogues.

3. Send 3 DVD copies of the working version with the title, the name of the director mentioned on each DVD and the registration form in pdf format you will receive with the confirmation message attachment. DVDs must have all be sentby courier labelled as follows: “NO COMERCIAL VALUE, CULTURAL PURPOSE ONLY” to:
